In February 2008 the Netherlands has selected the candidate for the Bocuse d'Or Europe competition in Stavanger, Norway. In July 2008 the Dutch candidate was selected as candidate for the Bocuse d'Or competition in Lyon 2009.

The Dutch team consists of Mr. Wim Klerks, chef at restaurant Les Jumeaux in Bennebroek.
Mr Klerks is assisted by his commis, Mr Ronald Bellaart.

Coach of the team is Mr Marco Poldervaart, patron-cuisinier of restaurant De Gastronoom in Harlingen.
Wim Klerks and Marco Poldervaart know each other for a long time. They have common competition experience as both are member of the Dutch national culinary team.

President of the Dutch Bocuse d'Or organisation (Bocuse d'Or Nederland) is Mr André van Doorn.
Mr Van Doorn is a well-known chef in The Netherlands with an long and outstanding career.
Mr Van Doorn is patron-cuisinier of Restaurant Kasteel Heemstede in Houten. The restaurant is part of a historic castle from the 17th century.
