The contest

The Bocuse d’Or Europe is organised by SepelCom together with the Bocuse d’Or Norway, under the presidency of Mr. Eyvind HELLSTRØM. It will be held at the Stavanger Forum in Stavanger, Norway, on July 1st, and 2nd, 2008.

The Bocuse d’Or Europe illustrates the organizers’ motivation to create selection events on a continental scale in certain regions of the world. It aims to open the Bocuse d’Or cooking contest to new nations, thus offering them an opportunity to participate in the prestigious event.

The winner of the competition becomes the “Bocuse d’Or Europe 2008” and prize of 12.000 euros and a trophy created by Vincent Bred. In addition the objective of the Bocuse d’Or Europe is to select the European countries that will participate in the Bocuse d’Or, to be held the following year as part of the Sirha trade exhibition at the Eurexpo venue of Lyons - France.

The countries that will be ranked within the top 7 at the Bocuse d’Or Europe – excluding those European countries that have already qualified during the Bocuse d’Or 2007- will be selected for participation in the Bocuse d’Or finals, to be held as part of the Sirha trade exhibition in Lyons- France on January 27th and 28th 2009.

The Bocuse d’Or Europe is a travelling event that will be held, every even year, in a different country on the European continent. In order to host the event, the countries will present their application to the European Organisation Committee.
