Lode de Roover, from restaurant Fleur de Lin in Zele, won the Belgian final of the Bocuse d'Or on November 19, 2017. During the competition, which took place at the Horeca Expo in Ghent, 5 finalists faced each other in the hope of representing their country in the European selection. Kenny Bernaerts, Lode De Roover, Dany Lombart, Karen Torosyan and Jan Van de Velde had only a few hours to finish 2 tests. The first: prepare a dish based on fresh pasta, shellfish and cheese, the gray shrimp as the mandatory product. The second test: choosing at least two pieces of veal from the head, kidneys, feet and sweetbread, and cook them with a free filling.
At the end of the day Lode DE ROOVER came out as the winner. If he is one of the 12 best teams of the Bocuse d'Or Europe, he will represent his country in the final 2019 in Lyon.
