On November 18, 2017, Chef Mutlu Sevket Yilmaz won the prestigious cooking competition Bocuse d’Or Turkey 2017. The owner of the Four Seasons Restaurant in Alanya is not new to the competition, being the winner of the Bocuse d’Or Turkey 2015. He also represented his country during the European Continental Selections of the Bocuse d’Or in 2016.

After studying in the Vocational School for Hotel and Tourism, Mutlu Sevket Yilmaz did an internship at a hotel in Kemer, which is where his passion for cooking was born. For several years, the chef worked in small restaurants and hotels all over Turkey as a sushi chef. He later had the opportunity to do a 2-week training course at the Paul Bocuse Institute in France, where he was introduced to French Cuisine. When he went back to Turkey, he opened his own restaurant in Alanya.

All his experience helped him beat his 3 opponents during this edition of Bocuse d’Or Turkey. He proved his excellent technique and showed his creativity during the intense 5.35h test, where all candidates had to prepare a meat dish and a fish dish. All we can do now is wish him luck for the next step of the competition!
