Bocuse d’Or Latin America welcomes 10 talented Latin American Chefs qualified during national selections in South America and Central America.
This Continental Selection will showcase the quality richness, creativity and dynamism of Latin American cuisines. It is also a great occasion to promote Mexico and Mexico City gastronomy.
Accompanied by their commis, the chefs will endeavour to demonstrate the know-how and the gastronomic culture of their respective countries, by preparing two dishes (meat and fish) within exactly 5hrs and 35mins, following the many requirements set forth in the contest rules.
Enrique Olvera, the emblematic leader of the new Mexican cuisine, will be the president of the contest, and Chef Guy Santoro, president of Vatel club Mexico, will preside over the Organizing Committee. The Mexican Chef Martha Ortiz is the Honorory President of the contest.
At the end of the tests, the jury presided by the famous Peruvian Chef and writer Gaston Acurio, will taste and mark the creations in order to decide between them.
Only the top three chefs will be entitled to participate in the Grand Final of the Bocuse d'Or in January 2017, where they will be up against the best chefs from the other continental selection events.
