Marrakesh hosts the first continental selection of the Bocuse d'Or Africa on Saturday, June 30th.

The winning team and its runner-up will be qualified for the Bocuse d'Or world Finale which will take place in Lyon in January 2019.
Morocco participated in 2013, in 2015 represented by Issam Jaafari and in 2017 by Aissam Ait Ouakrim thanks to an exceptional Wild Card granted to the country following the efforts to promote gastronomy through Crémai. Morocco is besides the only Arab and African country which was present at the competition on the 24 nations. This year the Kingdom will be represented by the young chef Aissam Ait Ouakrim, Executive Chef of Palais Soleiman in Marrakesh.
As part of the TOC Africa (Tournoi des Chefs d’Afrique) organized by Rahal Event.
The event will take place in the context of 4 days of competition called the Tournament of African Chefs (TOC), where will also be played, the african selection of the world pastry cup and the regional selections of Marrakesh & south in cooking and pastry. These four days around gastronomy will take place in Marrakesh from June 28 to July 1, 2018 at the Palmeraie Golf Palace.
The Official Chefs Tournament is a culmination of more than 15 years of work for the promotion of Moroccan and African chefs. Since the first CREMAI show in 2003, a lot of work has been done on the representation of the Moroccan and African chef on the international scene. Since then, there have been more than 30 participations and 12 titles in addition to opening up to the global tendencies of food trades before extending the initiative on the continent. Beyond the values of exchange, sharing and the playful and promotional aspect they bring to African professionals, these meetings are also an opportunity
• to aware around the chef and his role in highlighting the gastronomy of his country.
• to participate in promoting gastronomy as a vector for tourism promotion
• to contribute to placing Morocco as a high-level gastronomic reference, ranking among the top professionals in the field
• to produce an emulation in the world of Moroccan and African leaders, able to pull the discipline upwards and promote vocations and talents in the field.
