Africa joins the competition.

In June 2018, for the first time in the history of the Bocuse d’Or a continental qualifying contest was held in Africa.

The contest is an opportunity for 8 teams, winners of the national rounds in the their respective countries, to pit their skills against each other in order to determine the 2 countries that will take part in the final of the Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France.

This African qualifying event received much attention and interest from the community of African and international chefs. More than a great springboard that boosts the participants’ careers, the Bocuse d’Or Africa reflects the emergence of new countries on the scene of international gastronomy.

The next Bocuse d’Or Africa edition will be held on 2022.
