Bocuse d'Or Academy Finland ry is responsible for Finland's participation in the international, esteemed, and high-level Bocuse d'Or competition. Bocuse d'Or Academy Finland was established in July 2020 to ensure the continuation of successful Bocuse d'Or culinary competition work in Finland.
During the two-year competition period, the association organizes the Finnish representative selection rounds, assembles the Finnish Bocuse d'Or competition team, and provides the necessary practice facilities, equipment, financial resources, and personnel for competition preparation. Additionally, the association develops Finland's international culinary competition activities and supports success in collaboration with its network of partners and stakeholders.
The Bocuse d’Or Academy Finland has conducted the selection process, and now the chosen individuals will begin assembling their teams, comprising commis and trainers. These three components form the core team for the upcoming qualifying competition which will present the candidate for the Bocuse d’Or Europe 2024.
The battle will be between chef Mikko Pakola and chef Ismo Sipeläinen
Along the journey, several skilled chefs will also join to contribute to the team's success in various aspects of development and training, leading to the ultimate goal at the Trondheim Spectrum. The teams are on the path of growth and learning, which is tremendously beneficial for the culinary profession and Finnish gastronomy.
Known as one of the world's toughest competitions to qualify for the prestigious Bocuse d'Or, the Finnish candidate must work smart and train tirelessly for the months following the Finnish qualifying competition. Fortunately, Finland boasts an abundance of exceptional chefs, making the selection process highly competitive. The candidate chosen from among the applicants is the best to represent Finland in the renowned Bocuse d'Or.
