The Chinese Bocuse d'Or national selection took place on 11 April 2026 in Yantai, bringing together five candidates competing for the opportunity to represent their country in the next stage of the Bocuse d'Or cycle.
The competition was evaluated by a jury composed of Chinese and international culinary professionals, including members of the Bocuse d'Or network. The event determined the chef who would go on to represent China at the continental level.
Results of the National Selection
Following the competition, Wong Chun Kei was selected to represent China. Born in 2000, he currently serves as Executive Chef at Amber, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant located within The Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.
Awarded Hong Kong Young Chef of the Year 2024, he draws inspiration from Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine and Chinese-Western fusion, combining local culinary traditions with international influences and contemporary techniques.
Preparations are in order for the Chinese team for the upcoming Asia-Pacific Bocuse d'Or Continental selections, taking place later this year.
