Napa Hosts the National Selection

The United States' Bocuse d'Or national selection took place on 25 January 2026 in Napa, California, USA.

Three candidates competed for the opportunity to represent Team USA at the Bocuse d'Or Americas 2026 and ultimately at the Bocuse d'Or Grand Final 2027 in Lyon. Organized by Ment'or, the competition challenged candidates to demonstrate precision, creativity and technical mastery through a signature dish built around halibut and a surprise secondary protein.

Competitors had three hours to create a restaurant-style presentation for five people, incorporating a sauce inspired by the culinary legacy of Monsieur Paul Bocuse and showcasing both technical execution and flavour balance.

From Ment'or Young Chef to Team USA Captain

Following the competition, Vincenzo Loseto was selected to represent the United States, accompanied by commis Tyler Higson

Originally from Massapequa, New York, Vincenzo developed his passion for cooking through his Italian family and early experiences in butcheries and professional kitchens. His career includes positions at some of New York City's most renowned restaurants, including NoMad and Eleven Madison Park, where he refined his culinary skills under internationally respected chefs.

In 2016, he won the Ment'or Young Chef Competition before joining Team USA's support staff for the Bocuse d'Or 2017, contributing to the country's historic first gold medal. Prior to his selection, he served as Chef de Cuisine at PRESS Restaurant in Napa Valley. With a strong competition background and years of experience in high-level kitchens, Vincenzo now leads Team USA on its journey toward the international stage.
