Italy's Bocuse d'Or national selection took place in Turin on 18 March 2025.
Three candidates competed in the event, which was organized to identify the chef who would represent Italy at the next European and world stages of the Bocuse d'Or. Held at the Lingotto Exhibition Centre, the competition challenged candidates to present their culinary preparations before a panel of leading Italian chefs.
At the conclusion of the event, the candidate who best demonstrated technical mastery, creativity and competitive potential earned the right to represent Italy in the international Bocuse d'Or cycle.
Matteo Terranova Leads Team Italy to victory
Following the national selection, Matteo Terranova was chosen to represent Italy.
He subsequently led Team Italy at the Bocuse d'Or Europe 2026, held in Marseille on 15 and 16 March 2026. Competing against twenty European nations, the Italian team delivered an outstanding performance and secured the bronze medal, finishing third overall behind Denmark and Norway.
This result qualified Italy for the Bocuse d'Or Grand Final, which will take place during Sirha Lyon in January 2027, and confirmed the country's position among Europe's leading culinary nations.
