The Czech Republic's Bocuse d'Or national selection took place on 30 June 2025 at the Grandhotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
Three candidates competed for the opportunity to represent their country at the European selection. Organized by the Bocuse d'Or Academy Czech, the competition challenged chefs to complete both a plated theme and a platter theme built around carefully selected ingredients.
The plated challenge featured zander, white asparagus and new potatoes, while the platter focused on venison loin, venison shoulder and chanterelles. Candidates were required to demonstrate precision, creativity and technical excellence while incorporating all mandatory ingredients into their dishes.
Dominik Unčovský Leads Team Czech Republic
Following the competition, Dominik Unčovský was selected to represent the Czech Republic.
His culinary journey began at a young age and led him through professional kitchens in Prague, Austria, India and several renowned restaurants, including La Finestra in Cucina and Sansho.
He currently serves as ambassador of the educational program run by MAKRO, a leading foodservice supplier. Dominik represented the Czech Republic at the Bocuse d'Or Europe 2023 in Trondheim and returned in 2025 to successfully reclaim his place as the national candidate. Determined to continue showcasing the strength of modern Czech gastronomy, he went on to represent his country once again on the European stage.
The Czech Republic came 13th out of 20 countries in the European selection, and therefore did not qualify for the Grand Finale in 2027.
