Sweden's Bocuse d'Or national selection took place on 31 March 2025 at Munchenbryggeriet in Stockholm, Sweden.
Three candidates competed for the opportunity to represent the country in one of the world's most prestigious culinary competitions. The event challenged participants to complete a series of demanding culinary tasks within four hours and thirty minutes, highlighting both technical mastery and creativity.
Candidates were required to prepare a plated fish dish featuring Arctic char alongside Jerusalem artichoke, onion and savoy cabbage, as well as a platter centered on Swedish rosé veal accompanied by two vegetable garnishes and a sauce.
Representing Sweden on the International Stage
Following an exceptionally close competition, Ludwig Tjörnemo was selected to represent Sweden. He secured victory with 1,170 points, finishing just nine points ahead of Oskar Persson, while Pontus Weilen placed third.
Accompanied by commis Linnea Carlsson and coach Jimmi Eriksson, Ludwig impressed the jury with dishes including plated Arctic char and Swedish rosé veal presented with glazed veal, confit potatoes with tarragon, pickled apple and asparagus. An experienced competition chef with a background in the Junior National Culinary Team and the Swedish National Culinary Team, Ludwig went on to represent Sweden at the Bocuse d'Or Europe 2026 in Marseille.
There, he delivered another outstanding performance, securing 4th place out of 20 participating countries and qualifying Sweden for the Bocuse d'Or Grand Final, which will take place during Sirha Lyon in January 2027.
